Havre Underground

Havre has an underground like a lot of other old cities. Here are a few photos of various businesses done underground and some the city has recreated so we could see what life was like.
This is the old church. Isn't the organ beautiful?
This is what the local dentist's office would have looked like.

And of course the old still. I am sure it was one that was originally underground.
The pharmacy had a little bit of everything, including a bottle of heroine.
Note the blue squares, this was in the sidewalk above. originally it was clear glass and due to years since installation it has colored. You could still see when lights were shut off even though it is colored.
This was one of the brothels in the town. The madame had the best and nicest room. The rest were only beds with a dresser and fairly sheer curtain as the divider between other occupants.
Bill is trying his hand at opening the old safe. The guide told us the safe had been open when found and left with no one going back underground. The next time it was seen it was closed and no one has the combination.
This is a depiction of the banker and his office.
The butcher shop was one of the important stores in town. They would have "fresh" seafood brought on ice. It was sold out as soon as it arrived as there was no sea port here and the people wanted the fresh fish, lobster and whatever else they could get.
