other campground sights

See the Black Cormorant on the rock. There were many in the area.

This is the only way to catch fish, no mess and no cleaning needed and they last forever.

Our stay in Jurupa shows some snow on the mountains across the lake. Beautiful sight.

We met these folks in Rancho Jurupa. They are from Germany & have been traveling all over the world, note all the stickers on the side of the truck. They have put 250,000 miles on this truck, that does not enclude the ocean trips. They spent a year in South America, worked their way up to Central and now the States. Their kids came in from Germany for a 17 day tour of our parks then home. This couple are going through Canada to Alaska then back to Halifax to ship the vehicle and themselves back home.
This is a side shoot of the truck. It is the same type used racing the Dakar. It is very durable and few problems. A trip home for a year and then they are going to Russia in this vehicle.

interesting animals & other things at campgrounds

look close (click twice) to see the Road Runner.

Prado has numerous Peacocks around the office. There are at least 28.

Click twice to see all the windmills by Palm Springs.

This Vulture was looking for his breakfast in the park. Later he found it, I will spare you the sight.

Headed for a race in Vegas with some new friends from Canada. Look at the beautiful mountains and desert view.

more campground sights

Sunset over Prado from the front window of our coach.

Beautiful sunset from the coach. What a great campsite this was in Prado.

Not so charming geese who like to chase after people. They are part of Rancho Jurupa's animal offerings.

There are many flocks of Coots also known as Mudhens at both campgrounds.

Don't let their sleeping fool you. This white goose comes after you screaming the whole time. It will bite at your leg or shoes. If you show it a stick, it turns tail and runs.

These are a couple of the strange ducks at Rancho Jurupa campgrounds. The are black and white and make a noise that sounds like they have laryngitis. They go after your feet.

Bill and more fish from Prado. He practices catch and give away.

Prado Park and it's sights

the backside of Lake Prado-secluded and peaceful.

A field of Canadian geese- we followed them South for the winter.

Long legged bird at the Prado Lake campgrounds.

Who said it doesn't get cold in California. This was ice on a fence caused by watering.

The Santa Ana winds play havoc with the empty trash cans at the campgrounds. The wind pulls the tied down bags inside out and lets them blow around as if full of air.

camping in California etc

Christmas with the girls and Lauren's cat could not resist one of the boxes.

increase the photo to see the blue bird as well as the mountains in Prado Park.

Bill is still pulling fish in at all the lakes we camp at. This was Prado. The fish was about 22 inches long.

This Pelican was waiting for it's turn at the fish.

Storm clouds gathering make a really neat picture.
