Some pretty & interesting sights on our way to my uncles

The hunt for our grandpa and grandma???? Under the bushes????? Maybe
We started digging after sticking a probe in the ground and found the headstone and grandpa.
Cleared all the flowers and bushes away so we and anyone searching can find our grandparents.
Uncle Bob on left and his friend and care giver John. Uncle Bob is the only one of moms siblings remaining and he will be 87 in October. Kitty's are in the background.

Uncle Bob's little kitty, the other one was hiding.Rose of Sharon tree in Uncle Bob's front yard.
Rocky land throughout the area. they look like the hoodoos of Utah.
The roads are really neat covered with trees.
A totem pole along the way.

Queen Anne Lace it prevalent everywhere.

Brick remains when roofs and windows disappear with time. I looks like these buildings are going back to the earth.
This is an old saw shop and still has one occupant -- the saw sharpener.
This may look like an old abandoned house, but all it needs is paint as it is lived in at present.
Sentiment and loyalty still run deep in the south.
The roads are narrow and hilly in the back country.
There are so many wild flowers in the southern states -- probably do to all the rain. And fortunately they don't cut them down along the roadside.
So what zoo did he escape from.

Arkansas and Missouri and a short stay

The story of the turtle is sad but at least it lived and now travels to various zoos. It is a good reminder why we should not toss things only in the proper trash receptacles. You can read her story at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/adoptriver/peanut.html
I could not get a clear shot of her as the tank had condensation on the top and the side distorted. She is housed at the fish hatchery near Branson Missouri. Quit a figure for a lady, not so much for a turtle.

This is what the sides of the roads are made of --I should say the land is made of all this rock and they have to cut it away to make the roads.

The Galena "Y" bridge is over St James River in Missouri.

Bil so wanted his fishing rod -- but alas we were in Bass Pro and they would have frowned on that sort of thing. It is amazing how many fish could hide in the tree.

A roadside rest provided some tranquil time near the river. It was very shallow but fast moving.
This shuttle car was seen along one of our side trips.
The sun was really red and awesome as we headed back to my aunts in Lincoln Arkansas.
This was a little later seen in the trees. You can really see how red the sun was.

Following are two photos of baby red tail hawks that are nesting in the tree at my aunts house.

Wild flowers are everywhere. These roses are in the country near my aunts house.
A field of lily's now rather wild at my aunts but planted as a flower bed at one time. Left to spread they did a very nice job of it.
This is one of the larges chimes I have ever seen.

We took a short trip to the Prairie Grove Civil War Park. I had relatives that fought in this area.

Texas to Oklahoma

What is left in my cousins yard after the tornado took her out building. She had window damage as well as the skirt of her mobile home.
One of the buildings in the town.
The remnants of the schoolhouse and the satellite dish.

These boards are through the wall due to the force of the storm.
One of the many piles of debris from the town of Tushka OK from the tornado.
This is all that was left of the five RV's that were in the park we stayed in last year.
These campers were in the campground where we stayed. They had flying debris damage.
This mobile home had a tree fall across it and it is totaled.

Camellias in our daughter in laws back yard.
Some of the magnolias from her front yard tree.
Was the building first or the road.
Pamela in her new cowgirl hat and boots in preparation of riding lessons the next day.
Pamela and her first riding lesson, a present from her mom.
