goldmining in Alaska

Adding Alaska to our travel map.
This was an original building used by three generations of miners. The lady that gave the tour said her parents used this house when they first moved here to take over the mine.
This is a little of the information for extracting the gold from the ground.

These are the tools used after they are down to loose dirt to go through.
This pan spins to let the gold settle while the dirt is removed leaving only the nuggets. It spirals to the center and the gold is caught on the spirals.
This is the gold after she finished. This gold is kept for the tours so she doesn't have to go through the complete process of getting it from the ground.
