Watson Lake and Northward

Washing the vehicles became second nature with all the road construction that goes on here in the summer.
notice the rocks on the hood, we also had some on the back deck of the truck. This is from being thrown up by the coach. This was minor, some days there were a lot more. The guys have fixed the rear of the coaches so this will no longer happen. It can be hard on vehicle windshields.
Bil and Barb leading the way through Alaska. What great scenery we have.
Another great shot of the beautiful world the Lord has blessed us with.
Remi following us down across Alaska- this was a mirror shot.
nothing better to do- the kids here do rock writing in along the roadways.
This is truly some beautiful country. This is one of may such views we see almost daily.
One of the campgrounds had live music from the lower 48. This was a bluegrass band and quite good at both playing and singing.
the continental divide where 2 great rivers converge.

This signpost Forrest was in Watson Lake, Alaska and was started by a lonely soldier in the 40's and continues today.

Bil and Barb at the sign post Forrest. There were all types of things signs were left on, from pie tins to toilet seats.

Which way to go from here - people coming and going from everywhere.
This is just a part of the signs people from around the world have placed here.
Amongst all the signs we found one from Bil's hometownThese are our traveling companions, Toni & Remi, from Edmonton Alberta.
The building of the ALCAN Highway
The mode of transportation was not easy back then.
The bridge in the 1940's and the one used today-quite a difference.
Working conditions were not ideal - as noted in the article below.
