Valley Forge

The Uniform of the day from 1775 - 1783 in the American Revolution. The one on the right is the summer uniform as it is lighter. The one on the right has a versatile jacket. It can be buttoned back with the tails buttoned up or down to completely cover him across his chest and to his thighs, it also covers across his throat for warmth, it is of wool. They also had 3 different hats they could wear, 2 are shown the other is like a rangers hat with full brim.

This is the present day soldiers getting tips from the past day soldiers. Thes soldiers are preparing to go to Iraq and have come for a trip through Valley Forge before heading to Iraq. This is something that started as a one time thing and went over so well they all want to do it before deploying for duty.

The soldiers are about to tour Washington's headquarters and home while in the field.

The rear or Washington's headquarters.

These are the sleeping quarters of the men while in the field fighting the war. They thought these were great compared to what they had before getting to Valley Forge. These were small log cabins they built.
