Georgetown, Cripple Creek & Colorado Springs Area

Snow dusted mountains across the valley floor.
Double click to take a look at this interesting house. It looks like a space ship on a pedestal.
The colors as the trees change are mainly yellow as it is Aspens mixed with fir trees.

This sign was seen on over one of the roads with a steep grade.

Silverplume had some interesting buildings. This garage is almost part of the creek and may be part of it in the future.

The Silverplume jail -one door & one window. This was a little town we ran across in one of our drives.

This intersection warns of cross traffic - but it is an alley coning out of the mountain of stone.
This old house in Silverplume had the entire front yard full of flowers.
One of the nicer old homes that backs to the stone mountains.
This was one of the houses using the rock as a base. The mountain is behind the homes and business on this side of the street so becomes part of them.
We stopped at fossil beds at Florissant and saw these fossilized trees.
This is the sign that talks about the trees.
This is the biggest tree of the group.

Sunset over our campground in Fountain Co.
Overview of Georgetown Co. Located in the mountains near Clear Lake.
An old tunnel for vehicle traffic that is no longer in use.
This was a tunnel for 2 presidents built across a road. The sides were done at different times.
This is Clear Lake and the Dam just past Georgetown.
An overview of Cripple Creek Co. It is an old gold mining town.
